Managing Heritage College Certificate

What is special about this course?

Suitable for general interest or as CPD for Shetland Tour Guides.

The course will consider the nature of Heritage, what counts as heritage, how it is selected and who it’s audience is. It will also explore the challenges of presenting it and securing its survival into the future. Examples will be drawn from around the world, but always related back to challenges that are also faced locally.

Entry requirements

No interview required but contact Simon Clarke to discuss course suitability for potential applicants.

There are no formal qualifications required.

"The module is a chance to think about what heritage is, who and what it is for, how it is best preserved and presented and who should pay for its upkeep."
