What is special about this course?

This course is aimed at people who would like to gain Highers and develop the skills needed to progress into Higher. 
There are excellent progression pathways to Higher Education. 
 

Entry requirements

4 passes at National 5, one of which must be an English based subject

The course can be tailored to the interests of individual students and can include a combination of the following:  
•    Higher Psychology; 
•    Higher Human Biology; 
•    Higher Sociology; 
•    Higher Care; 
•    Higher Administration and IT
•    Higher Childcare and Development
•    NPA Criminology 
•    Alternative to Higher English
•    N5 Maths
 

Equipment

All our materials are accessible via our virtual learning environment called Brightspace.  In order to access this, it would be beneficial to a computer/laptop or mobile devise. 

How will I study my course?

    Classes will be delivered via a mix of virtual online learning and face to face classes.  

    How long will my course last?

    1 Year

    A full time or part time course
    For full time students this course will run over 5 days per week and will be taught via class lectures (a mix of online and face to face).  It is expected that students do 3-4 hours of self directed learning each week.
     

    How will I be assessed?

      Course assessment is by written essays and assignments and class tests, prelims, discussion and reflection on learning. There are unit assessments and there are final exams.
