What is special about this course?
Healthcare Support (Non-clinical) at SCQF level 7 allows learners to demonstrate competence in job-related skills in their particular area of work and expertise. This qualification covers areas such as promoting effective communication in a healthcare environment; maintaining health, safety and security practices within a health setting; and developing your practice through reflection and learning. It also covers monitoring and solving customer service problems; planning and managing own workload; planning and organising meetings; helping individuals address problems affecting their performance; using information to take effective decisions; allocating work to team members; giving presentations to groups; and assisting others to plan presentations to enable learning.
Entry requirements
- Candidates must be in a workplace where they are carrying out relevant tasks and responsibilities which allow then to gather the required evidence
- It is essential you are able to support others
- You must be currently employed in the health and social care sector in a support workers role and have been undertaking your current role for a minimum of six months.
- You must be supported by your employer from the application stage.
If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.
There are 3 mandatory units:
- Promote Effective Communication in a Healthcare Environment
- Maintain Health, Safety and Security Practices within a Health Setting
- Develop Your Practice through Reflection and Learning
There are 5 optional modules that will be agreed with your assessor on starting the award, based on your experience and current employment.
