Aquaculture Management (SCQF level 9) SVQ

Course code 95D4

What is special about this course?

This SVQ has been designed in partnership with the Sector Skills Council, Lantra, and in response to the aquaculture industry requirements for work-based management training. The programme is offered, and assessment carried out, in the workplace, minimising any need to be away from work.

The qualification covers areas such as managing the aquatic production environment for farmed fish/shellfish, and managing the production of farmed fish/shellfish for sale or transfer. It also covers: planning and managing of shellfish depuration operations; implementation of the site fish health plan; fish/shellfish hatchery production; and a variety of operational and managerial units.

I didn’t consider any other universities as it was online, flexible, gave me higher-level knowledge and certification, and not to mention it was fully supported by the company I worked for. The tutors provide helpful guidance throughout your studies, demonstrating a deep understanding of the articles and modules.

The CPD Aquaculture Management gave me more confidence, especially when I’m accepting a new challenge in my career- the knowledge, I received from the course helped me to step forward in my studies and career.

Go for it; it is worth it. During the 9 months of online study at UHI, there will be enough time, even if you are working, to write your essays and acquire new knowledge about aquaculture management skills. My highlights were the data collection, collaborations, and new connections!

Andras studied the CPD Aquaculture Management at UHI Shetland.
