Safety Demonstration at NAFC

On Tuesday a very informative and interesting presentation and demonstration was held at the college, hosted by local supplier DH Marine and aimed at improving safety standards in the local fishing sector.

Representatives from the RNLI, Mullion and Ocean Safety, displayed a range of safety equipment available for fisherman, to help them comply with upcoming changes in legislation, and to improve general safety at sea.

The event was well attended both by fishermen themselves as well as others with an interest in the industry, along with current students attending NAFC Marine Centre. It would be fair to say that all who attended learned something new, and very much enjoyed the afternoon.
