Skills for Work
These courses are chosen by those in Secondary 2 for studying in Secondary 3 and/or 4. If you are keen to get a taster of a particular career and experience college life while still at school, these courses are for you.
Courses run every alternate Friday, for either one or two years depending on the subject. This is your chance to acquire hands-on practical skills that could help you secure a job in the future. Not only that, but you will build your self-confidence and learn other key skills such as time-keeping, professional appearance, problem solving and customer care.
If you are a parent and your child will not make it in for their skills for work course, please email us as early as possible in the morning to: schools.shetland@uhi.ac.uk
