Hospitality

Course Summary

Completion of this course will improve employment chances in the sector and will give candidates the skills to work in a kitchen or in customer facing role, in a variety of hospitality business types.

It will also give candidates some excellent life skills, including cookery, increasing confidence in communicating with others and working as a team.  The event planning content will equip candidates with a number of transferable skills for planning of all types, including personal life planning.

Pupils will gain practical experience in: menu planning; preparing, cooking and presenting a range of foods in a professional kitchen; serving food and drinks; undertaking reception duties and customer care; and planning, organising and running a small hospitality event.

Further study:

• You could consider studying one of our Hospitality and Professional Cookery courses or similar courses elsewhere when you leave school.

Employment:

• Any roles within the Hospitality industry suited to the level of experience and knowledge gained by the learner.
